Who we are
Founded in 1914, the Manila Nomads Rugby Club is the second oldest sporting club in the Philippines. Although the club was established originally to serve as a recreational outlet for British expatriates, it has nonetheless set the foundation for rugby in the Philippines.
We are proudly made up of members from every continent and have watched the rugby community grow in the Philippines. We play host to teams from all over the globe while maintaining our Nomadic roots through touring domestically and internationally throughout the year. We seek to espouse rugby’s core values of Integrity, Passion, Solidarity, Discipline, and Respect and strive to be proud ambassadors of these values while we promote and develop grass-roots rugby and represent our nation at the highest level.
As a rugby sports club, our mission is to promote rugby in the Philippines and get more local players aware of and involved in the sport. We endeavor to provide pathways and opportunities for players to participate in competitions at local, provincial, and national levels. We encourage all members, both young and old, to stay physically active, develop rugby skills, and learn important life skills through teamwork, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship.
As a community-based organization, we offer a place for everyone including expats and locals to make friends, socialize, and network around the sport of rugby. We focus on cultivating an environment where rugby players and supporters can benefit from belonging to one of the best amateur rugby clubs in Asia.
Today, the Manila Nomads Rugby Club proudly competes in both rugby 7s and rugby 15s and boasts a number of representatives in the Philippine Volcanoes national team, the Philippine Residents XV, and the National Development Team (for Philippine Heritage players).
