2018 continues to kick off with a bang
After a solid start to the year, Nomads are gearing up for an even bigger second half, with the 7s season, plenty of tours, and women’s and children’s development all coming up.
The SPI 15s season has come and gone, with Nomads unsuccessful in holding onto the national title. The team did, however, manage to reclaim the Plate at the 30th Manila 10s festival held in San Lazaro in March. The weekend saw two incredibly strong Nomads and Carabaos teams face off in a semi-final, with Nomads coming out 5-0 victors before progressing on to take the silverware.
In representative rugby, the Residents XV fielded seven Nomads players, with two unavailable due to injury. The home team ran out victorious against a determined Guam team, who had just claimed the ARC Div 3 title in Brunei.
Two Nomads were selected to represent the Philippine Volcanoes in the ARC Div 1 competition against Singapore, which was held at Southern Plains in June. The Volcanoes ran out winners of the two matches, rising to 53 in the world rankings.
