The Nomads Youth Rugby Program (NYRP) is an initiative by the Manila Nomads aimed at developing grassroots rugby in the Philippines. The program provides structured training and development opportunities for young athletes, creating pathways for talented players to progress from the local to the national level.
Over the years, NYRP has successfully run several projects, significantly contributing to the growth of rugby among youth in targeted communities while fostering essential life skills and rugby values. We have partnered with barangays, schools, and communities in Alabang, Pasay, Makati, and Taguig.
Nomads Juniors
Nomads Juniors is our flagship youth rugby program, dedicated to cultivating the next generation of Nomads and growing Filipino youth participation in rugby by providing access to structured rugby training for young athletes from partner schools and communities where financial and logistical barriers are high.
Through this program, we inspire a passion for rugby in a supportive and inclusive environment and instill values founded in Integrity, Passion, Solidarity, Discipline, and Respect. Our goal is to shape well-rounded individuals who will contribute to the sport and positively impact their communities.
Past Projects
Nomads Champions
The Champions program, supported by grants from PRFU and ChildFund Rugby, offered sports and values formation for youth aged 12 to 16 in Barangay Carmona and neighboring communities in Makati. Certified youth rugby coaches implemented ChildFund Rugby’s curriculum, teaching both rugby skills and life skills to participants. This initiative, in partnership with Ayala Land Corporation and Circuit Makati, was held at the Blue Pitch Circuit Makati.
Conducted over three successful seasons, this project certified over 30 youth coaches, trained over 250 youth participants, and hosted four dynamic rugby festivals, significantly expanding the reach and impact of rugby in the community.
Nomads Rascals
Rascals is an extension of our G2G Campaign, launched as the pilot project of the Nomads Youth Rugby Program, specifically designed to train and develop young women aged 14 to 18 from the SOS Children’s Village Orphanage in Alabang. The project was in partnership with Nord Anglia International School in Pasay, and Kaizen 88 Car Rental.
11 participants formed the Nomads Rascals team and participated in several touch rugby competitions, showcasing their
skills and progress.
G2G Play Like a Girl
Play Like A Girl is Manila Nomads’s campaign to support Grassroots to Global, in collaboration with the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU). This is the club’s first major youth initiative in partnership with Nord Anglia International School Manila in Pasay and Kaizen 88 Car Rental.
10 participants gained a solid understanding of rugby, improved fitness, and developed valuable life skills, culminating in entering the G2G Rugby Festival.
